In 1986, nuclear scientist Anna Berkov accidentally time-travels from the Chernobyl disaster to 1992, finding her estranged daughter Molly fatally shot. Molly’s last wish is for Anna to prevent the disaster and save her granddaughter Raisa. In the '60s, Molly, an adopted refusenik in Philadelphia, draws a comic series “Atomic Anna”, inspired by her birth mother. Her life changes after meeting Viktor. In the '80s, Raisa, a math prodigy and Molly’s daughter, discovers the secret of time travel through the “Atomic Anna” comics. She realizes she must change their family’s future.
