James, a Cree man from Northern Alberta, lives a comfortable life in Vancouver but struggles with cultural assimilation. His mother’s death prompts him to reconnect with his roots. He becomes a principal in a remote Dakelh community, but faces poverty, cultural disruption, and personal demons. Despite the challenges, he appreciates the Dakelh culture and fights to prevent his past from ruining his life.
