You probably have noticed or participated in an Indigenous land acknowledgement. Maybe at your school, before a sporting event or at an assembly or meeting. You recognize the Indigenous people and traditional territories that you're standing on. That's become much more common in Canada recently. But Indigenous communities from across the globe have been doing them for a long time. So what are Indigenous land acknowledgements? Why do we do them? And is there a right or wrong way to do them?
