Ivey is an 8-year-old girl who lives in London, Ontario. She is Oneida, Plains Cree and Ojibwe, and loves being connected to all aspects of her diverse heritage. She and her brother Griffin make awesome sandcastles together at the beach - and they also make awesome music together with the rest of the family band! Ivey and her Mom are learning how to honour the water, and will share with us part of a very special water ceremony. In her room Ivey shows us some of her favourite things, including a fairy door which has a tiny key. Her jingle dress dance regalia is covered in rainbows - which makes sense because her spirit name is "Pisim ohyapi iskwew," which means "beautiful like a rainbow" in Cree! She is also learning how to speak Ojibwe - by playing a fun game of memory cards with her Kokom. Ivey is also pretty sporty - so she and her brother throw around a football to get a bit of exercise!Ivey's special word is "lutl^nótha" which means "musicians" in Oneida.
