Miina is a 9-year-old Anishinaabe girl who lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba with her family, two cats and a dog. Her name means blueberry in her language - which is perfect because Miina loves blueberries! In her room she shows us her favourite things, including the unicorn necklace her best friend Addie gave her and a cool dinosaur egg. Outside, Miina shows us her family drum and explains that she puts water on it so that the spirit of the animal can drink the water. Then she drums and sings us a lullaby that a friend of the family wrote. Miina is vegan, which means she doesn't eat anything made with animal products. Her Mom helps her make a delicious vegan soup, and then she shows us how she jingle dress dances! When Addie comes for a visit they pick apples in the backyard and then make a fairy garden! Miina's special word is "nibaa" which means sleep in her language.
