Nykeem and young track star Jaden are bending over backwards trying to perfect their high jump technique. Dr. Heather expands on the science behind the Fosbury flop, a new technique created by high jumper Dick Fosbury which got him an Olympic gold medal in 1968. Guest pro Jillian gives Jaden some tips on jump technique, and the lab explains that gravity is the force that pulls a jumper back to the ground, and the centre of mass is the point on your body where weight is perfectly balanced, usually near the waist. Keeping the centre of mass below the bar makes it easier to jump. Nykeem explains the difference between aerobic and anaerobic exercise and emphasizes the importance of aerobic exercise.
