Pegasus was a pure-white, graceful horse in Greek mythology. His wings were a gift from Zeus, and he could fly faster than the wind and reach the top of Moun Olympus, home of the gods. He was very agile, a formidable opponent in battle, and able to understand human speech. A strike of his hoof would release fresh spring water, and those who drank from a well called Hippocrene were blessed with talent. Pegasus was a symbol of hope, healing, nobility, and purity. The large constellation named Pegasus is located in the northern sky.
