The beaches of California are some of the most beautiful in the world,  but are they falling out of balance due to mankind's effects on nature? What does it take for the magnificent flora & fauna of the Pacific Coast to keep living... on the "living beach"? The California drought is driving the Mule Deer out of their inland habitats and toward the coastline... onto Pismo Beach, which is foreign to them. The warming ocean (and other worrying factors, like Fukushima radiation in those same waters) is driving Sea Lions in the other direction... and up onto the beach, as well, at Pescadero. Through our examination of the changing beaches of California, we'll examine this new place of convergence for so many species, in their struggle to survive and prevail in the 21st century. Other stories include: Pelicans and coastal oil spills; California Sea Otters and the Moss Landing State Beach & Power Plant.
