In this episode Brandy Yanchyk visits the Tamástslikt Cultural Institute in Oregon. Joined by John Bevis, he talks to Brandy about three different tribes Cayuse, Umatilla and the Walla Walla that came together in 1955 to make a treaty. At the Institute visitors get a look into their history as it moves from pre-contact to present day. John discusses how Residential Schools banned them from practicing their culture, but it stayed alive during what was called "the darkest period" as it went underground. To end her experience Brandy builds a tepee with John.
