For six years the Royal Canadian Navy and Airforce courageously attacked German U-boats to keep the vital supply lines open to Britain through the Atlantic Ocean. Canada became known as the world's top submarine-hunting nation. The Battle of the Atlantic ended in 1945 with the Allies' victory.
