At their camp in the Abitibi woods, Émilie and Norman share a meal and their knowledge of the Anishinaabe language. Émilie is concerned that their young people are speaking French instead of Anishinaabemowin today. Norman feels alive when he speaks their language as they recover from what they were taught at residential schools. Anishinaabemowin changes the way of thinking; it is a connection to the land and the Creator. Also available in French: Kiticikicewinan - Ma langue: La Collection des cinéastes autochtones Wapikoni Biography: Émilie Mowatt is Anishinaabe Kwe. She was born on July 3, 1951 in Lac Abitibi.
