From the crowded sands of Patong beach, to the serenity of Kamala's waterfronts, tourists are spoilt for choice when it comes to picking villas or resorts. But these establishments took a beating in 2004 when the Tsunami devastated their infrastructure. Phuket had to rebuild itself but saw this as an opportunity to practice sustainable methods of development with nature playing the major role. Some establishments are now harvesting water and energy from nature while others use nature itself as a key component of their architecture and construction.
