She is the first African American woman elected to the State House from Orangeburg County. In this clip, Cobb-Hunter discusses the influence of those in her community as a way of fostering her interest in politics. Cobb-Hunter details her journey into politics, including starting the Women of Color Political Network to create a network of women in politics across the state. Cobb-Hunter also details the challenges faced as a woman and person of color making headway into the political arena in the South.
