Residential schools were a series of boarding schools set up for Indigenous children across Canada. Conditions in the schools were hard, with overcrowding and disease. Food was often in short supply. Back in 1961, the students in one Alberta school finally had enough. They carried out a full-scale riot and took control. Warning: This story contains details some viewers may find distressing.
