Holi, a Hindu lunar festival of colours, is usually celebrated in March in India, Nepal and other parts of the world. It celebrates the end of winter and the victory of good over evil. The name comes from Holika, a demon who was defeated by a prince dedicated to Vishnu. People throw coloured powders and coloured water at each other, creating human rainbows.
