Siksika First Nation chief Chief Vincent Yellow Old Woman went to residential school at age five. New Blood is inspired by his true story. The film traces the origins of a school production about residential school trauma. The chief's grandkids and the next generation of Siksika Nation find healing through dance, theatre and the music of Peter Gabriel.
