Not much time ealpsed between Conner Gilmartin's incredulous discovery of his wife Esme's infidelity with Randal Allard Going and the fatal blow he took to the head, which permanently puts an end to his rather inauspicious, but much beloved mortal life. The strange thing was, Gilmartin couldn't figure out what was supposed to happen next. His soul -- detached from his very lifeless body -- appeared doomed to wander aimlessly and indefinitely about the earth. Baffled, alone, and not a little miffed at being so unceremoniously cut down, Gilmartin determines to avenge himself against his now panic-stricken murderer.
