The sad and lonely "Beastman of Ballyloch" is finally able to show his gentleness to people as well as animals when he saves Miranda from drowning, then helps clean up the lake after it was polluted with the stranger's stardust by instructing the townspeople to weave straw mats to absorb the slime.
