Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, and Sue and Johnny Storm are bombarded with powerful cosmic rays on an experimental rocket flight and return to earth with newfound powers, which they resolve to use to explore the boundaries of human knowledge. But they find themselves challenged by monsters, scientific wierdness, and a technological genius gone bad.
