While Detective Superintendent Dalziel convalesces from the effects of a terrorist's bomb, someone is murdered in the seaside resort town in which Dalziel is staying. DCI Peter Pascoe is assigned to investigate the murder, but, of course, he must cope with Dalziel's unofficial interest as well.
