This report is designed to provide an independent review of China's achievements in promoting renewable energy and reducing the energy intensity of its economy. The key drivers behind China's efforts in these areas are the needs to boost energy security, tackle climate change, ease the pressure of environmental pollution, and improve energy supply in rural areas.
