Description based on volume 1, issue 1, June 2022. O.K., K.O., O.K. is a magazine of work by writers and artists from secondary schools in the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). The young people who contributed to this magazine were asked to submit work that is personally authentic; that challenges and disrupts past and present colonial narratives; and that inspires increasingly responsible relationships between Métis, Inuit, and First Nations Peoples and non-Indigenous communities now and into the future.

But modern life has its conveniences, and Greg isn't cut out for an old-fashioned world. With tension building inside and outside the Heffley home, will Greg find a way to survive?

     High school star athlete Colin Kaepernick is at a crossroads in life. Heavily scouted by colleges and MLB as a baseball pitcher, he has a bright future ahead of him as a highly touted prospect. Everyone from his parents to his teachers and coaches are in agreement on his future. Colin feels differently. Colin isn’t excited about baseball. In the words of five-time all-star MLB player Adam Jones, “Baseball is a white man’s game.” Colin looks up to athletes like Allen Iverson: talented, hyper-competitive, unapologetically Black, and dominating their sports while staying true to themselves. College football looks a lot more fun than sleeping on hotel room floors in the minor leagues of baseball. But Colin doesn't have a single offer to play football. Yet. This touching graphic novel explores the story of how a young change-maker learned to find himself and never compromise. How the right decision is very rarely the easy one, but taking the road less traveled can make all the difference in the world.

     From the 1950s to 1980s, the Canadian government persecuted LGBTQ+ employees and tried to erase them from the military, the RCMP and the civil service under the guise that they were a "security risk", an event that became known as the LGBT Purge. Those who were suspected of being homosexual were put under government surveillance, interrogated and intimidated. They were fired from their jobs. Many quit to avoid being exposed. Some committed suicide as a result. In the 1980s, victims of the Purge fought back with a class-action suit against the government that helped shed light on the systemic discrimination that members of the LGBTQ+ community faced from the government and the rest of society. In 2017, the federal government issued a formal apology on behalf of the government and Canadian society for the treatment of members of the LGBTQ+ community. In this highly visual book, author Ken Setterington presents the struggle for LGBTQ+ rights using photographs, first-person accounts and excerpts from archival documents. Significant events in the struggle include the establishment of Pride parades, the Bathhouse Raids, the decriminalization of homosexuality, the passing of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the LGBT Purge and the legalization of same-sex marriage. While the government's formal acknowledgement of past injustices started Canada on a better path toward equality, there is still work to be done.

The bison are gone, settlers from the East are arriving daily, and the Métis and First Nations of the Northwest face hunger and uncertainty as their traditional way of life is threatened. The Canadian government has ignored their petitions, but hope rises when Louis Riel returns to help.

     Reach Your Potential is a course designed for everyone at any level. People can expect multiple jobs in their lifetime, and a career path that is anything but a straight line to the top. What is important is to find ways to reach your potential. In this course psychologist Peter Quarry invites you to consider how you can reach your potential. You will learn to consider capacity-building questions: Am I in the right career? Have I identified my purpose and my path? Am I achieving results in my current role? Am I my own best friend or worst enemy? What is holding me back? Am I taking practical steps to reach my potential? Reaching your potential is finding your purpose and your path to achieving it.  Reach your potential by first finding your true purpose in life;  Ask yourself whether you are achieving maximum results;  Address what holds you back;  Take practical steps to take you forward;
