From the Curio.ca streaming audio-visual collection. Falcons are deadly hunters that can rocket towards their prey at upwards of 300 km/h to take them on the wing. But how do they make sure their speed kills their prey - and not themselves? Dr. Suzanne Amador Kane, a physicist at Haverford College in Pennsylvania, has been studying the question with new technology. She collaborated with falconers to put tiny cameras on falcons, on their heads and their backs, which allowed them to see what the falcon saw while it hunted. She found that the birds' technique involved choosing an intercept angle that allowed them to best see their prey, while disguising the speed of their approach.

Until one day when Robbie has to show the tough new girl, Harmony, around school. Their first meeting ends horribly and she punches Robbie in the face. But eventually they come to realize that they have a lot more in common than they thought. Can Robbie's new friend be trusted to keep his secret?

Overcome a Writing Block is a video addressing a common problem of "writer's block". For many of us, it's fear of staring at a blank page and wondering what to say. In this video, behavioral expert Peter Quarry explains how to overcome a writing block. Overcome a Writing Block is a video, in which you will learn to start by dumping words and ideas on a page, as a mindmap or like a lump of clay, and you can begin to shape it however you like. You will learn that gradually your writing momentum will build and you will discover an exciting opportunity to unlock thoughts and expressions you never realized you had within you. • Don't wait to feel inspired - start now and create a document, give it a title • Brainstorm words, phrases, facts and do a rough draft • Reduce pressure - don't strive for perfection • Keep going according to your energy levels • Write regularly at a time that suits you, and take regular breaks to refresh • Write in a place free of distractions • Always set writing goals and reward yourself when you achieve them

Duration for read-aloud playback: 7 minutes 30 seconds. As a young student of the violin, Joshua Bell learns about an international competition to be held in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He chooses a piece of music, which his teacher suggests may be too difficult, but Joshua is determined: it's a piece of music he loves. At the competition, Joshua experiences the usual jitters. Once his name is called, he strides to the stage and begins to play, but almost immediately, he makes a mistake. As he is about to walk off the stage, he asks if he can try again. This time, the playing is impeccable. Duésan Petriécic brilliant illustrations, full of movement and color, capture the sounds made by Joshua's violin, from the missed notes to the swirling, uplifting strains of the perfectly executed piece.

Early in history people began to depict star constellations to make it easier to orientate themselves in the starry sky. Many of the our constellations got their names from Greek mythology. But why can we see different constellations at different times of the year? And how do we know if it is a star or a planet in the sky? In this film you will get to know more about this. We will help you to recognise some of the main star constellations and you will learn that we, who live in the Northern hemisphere see the same stars all year around if we look to the North, and that these stars circles the Polar Star, whilst the ones in the South rise in the East and set in the West, just like the Sun and the Moon. You will also learn that since the dark side of the Earth faces different directions throughout the year, we will see different constellations if we look to the South. Finally we will explain that most of the stars we can see today, are the very same stars that all our ancestors saw when they looked up into the sky.
