When writer Roz Leigh stops working after a personal tragedy, she is given an ultimatum by her publisher: write a book about convicted murderer Olive Martin or lose her job. Initially repulsed by obese Olive, who has admitted to butchering her mother and sister for ignoring her birthday, Roz is soon trying to prove that Olive is lying to protect someone.
