Mowat's book has been available in Canada for a while, but here is another recommendation for it. Mowat reflects on a trip taken with his wife to re-trace the ground covered by the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment in World War II. Mowat relates the suffering endured by many and the brave actions of the French resistance fighters. He visits Italian sites and recalls atrocities committed there. As always, Mowat writes interestingly and well as he tells this personal story.
