Ten-year-old Alec, feeling guilty when he wins a starting position on the football team but his older brother does not, and angry and frustrated when his mother leaves town for an acting job and his father becomes assistant pricipal at Alec's school, learns that God allows things to happen in people's lives to help them grow.
