The Kindergarten Program outlines key features of an appropriate learning environment, and the use of time, space, and resources to meet the needs of all children. The following document describes these key features in relation to the provision of interactive visual arts experiences for children during their kindergarten years. These experiences include opportunities to create works of art, and to look at and talk about art. They will encourage creative expression, representation of feelings and ideas, and appreciation for the arts. This document will suggest materials and describe a variety of developmentally appropriate activities. These have been selected to emphasize concrete experiential learning and to achieve the following expectations, as outlined in The Kindergarten Program. .
