Winston is sent to stay with his father, a journalist who has been sent on assignment to cover a human interest story about a man trying to run across the country. He is overjoyed when his father's article about the Marathon of Hope ignites public interest across the country. When his father's next article characterizes Terry Fox and his friend, Doug in an unflattering way, Winston decides it's time to make a run for it himself.
