Travis has had a long history of poly-substance abuse. He has used alcohol, marijuana, crack cocaine, pills and inhalants. He has been to Detox three times and is currently clean and sober. Travis is still experiencing a lot of unhealthy and very dangerous thinking such as self-mutilation, which is often a sign of lack of recovery. Rand is encouraging him to go to treatment so he can develop healthy copying mechanisms to deal with his stress.
