This program presents an historical perspective and the rich heritage of three ancient civilizations of East and West Africa. From the last remains of the once-powerful Ashanti civilization in Ghana to Lamu, the oldest and best preserved Swahili settlement in East Africa, and on to Mali, where the Dogon people work to preserve their ancient culture.
