E.T. is a story of friendship and discovery about a being from outer space who is accidentally stranded on Earth. In his search for refuge, E.T. wanders into a backyard where he is discovered by a ten-year-old boy. The boy assumes responsibility for the alien, as he desperately searches for a way to reunite the creature with his own kind.
