The Cormorants are back! This is a native bird with striking jewel blue eyes that was almost lost to extinction. The Double-Crested Cormorants are thriving once again to the point where some are concerned about over-population. While other places have started culling their population, the largest nesting population in the world calls the Spit home, where they are being studied by the Toronto Regional Conversation Authority managed in a more humane way.
