Developed over the last fifty years by a small group of educators in the town of Reggio Emilia, Italy, Reggio Emilia is a unique, child-centred approach to early childhood education in which educators guide children's natural curiosity about their environment to encourage learning. Building on the strengths of the first edition, Authentic Childhood: Experiencing Reggio Emilia in the Classroom, second edition, includes more recent impressions and updated information, inspired by the author's second visit to Reggio Emilia.
