In this traditional story, Wesakechak learns that a true leader is a leader every day. He learns this lesson the hard way. Creator became very angry because Wesakechak did not take his responsibilities seriously and he decided to cleanse Turtle Island. He created a Great Flood that destroyed everything except for four beings: Wesakechak, Beaver, Otter, and Muskrat. Eventually, Creator took pity on Wesakechak and told him he could rebuild Turtle Island. In the process of rebuilding, Wesakechak learns some important lessons about himself and about others.
