Uses multiple exposure portraits to document the stories of indigenous Canadians who were forced to attend Indian Residential Schools. The schools were designed to coercively assimilate native children into mainstream Canadian culture by systematically suppressing Indigenous identity. Students also suffered routine physical and sexual abuse, and in more extreme cases, medical experimentation and sterilization. These multiple portraits juxtapose survivors with images that evoke the memories of their residential school experiences.
