A traditional account of the creation of the earth, illustrated by the author. Because the animals and birds of the earth had forgotten the teachings about respect for the earth, the Creator G-zhe Mni-doo, decided to teach the creatures a lesson. Rain fell upon the earth and as the waters rose, many animals died in the flood. The Creator knew the creatures had learned their lesson and the rain stopped.
