Dominic, Rose, and Nancy, three children living in a displaced persons camp in Patongo, Uganda, have seen their homes destroyed and their families torn apart. At the camp school, they participate in music, song, and dance activities, forgetting for awhile the brutal realities of their lives. When they are invited to compete in an annual music and dance festival in their nation's capitol, their historic journey is also an opportunity to regain a part of their childhood and to enjoy the anticipation of a possible victory.
