Throughout the world’s history people have created maps. Early maps were developed as humans began to explore the planet; later, maps defined countries and showed the relationship among features such as cities, lakes, rivers, mountains and roads. Maps have played an important role in human history and learning to use them has always been and still is an important skill. In this program viewers learn basic map skills: how to read a map and how maps are made.
