Last year, a sinkhole opened up beneath a Florida man's home and swallowed him up as he slept. A few months ago, the bottom of a car museum dropped out and several priceless Corvettes were devoured. Sinkholes can be dangerous and difficult to predict, but scientists who are simulating sinkholes are learning more about why they happen.
