Britt is a 13-year old Dutch girl and she's very good at speed skating. She practices 'short track,' that is a skate competition where you race four others on a very short track. You have to be able to skate really fast, so it is important that your skate easily glides over the ice. But how do you take off on something that is so slippery? Britt takes science to the ice skating rink and experiments with friction. She tries to make fire, uses rice grains to lift a soda bottle and makes her very own hovercraft.
