Renowned storyteller Donna Washington tells two African and one African-American folktale, each illustrated with lively, colorful animation. The African folktales are How Anansi Obtained the Sky God's Stories and Talk. The African-American folktale is Br'er Fox and Doc Rabbit Build a House. Ms. Washington begins with an explanation of folktales, then introduces the first story. After the story is told, she discusses it and then introduces the second story, Talk. After that, she discusses the second story and introduces the final story with an explanation of the historical importance of Br'er Rabbit stories.
