Lucy Calkins and her colleagues from the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project have helped hundreds of thousands of teachers launch and implement rigorous and responsive reading and writing workshops. Now they have written a curriculum for the reading workshop. Organized within a carefully crafted spiraling curriculum, sequential units of study model the teaching moves and language Lucy and her colleagues use to teach their students how to read with increasing sophistication and personal engagement.
