Seventeen-year-old Eva is dealing with troubles at home but she flees to Poland in the late 1970's to escape it all. There she meets a young man Mark who is angry, disenchanted, and charming. All around her things are stirring, there is the visit of Pope John Paul II and many people are beginning to revolt against the Communist regime.
