Every year, countless numbers of dogs are given up on: unwanted, abandoned for medical or behavioral reasons, the result of extreme abuse, or the unfortunate victims of circumstance. Most of these dogs will be euthanized when individuals and institutions are unable to care for them any longer. Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, the largest no-kill animal facility in the U.S., also known as Dogtown. is located on 33,000 acres of southern Utah canyon country. A state-of-the-art clinic provides the dogs with top-notch medical care-treatments that typical shelters wouldn't be able to pursue. A staff of full-time trainers, veterinarians, and volunteers rehabilitate troubled animals to the point where they can once again interact with other dogs and humans. As Dog town staff members help the dogs, we will learn different methods to combat behavioral issues and discover the symptoms and treatments for an array of medical conditions. A National Geographic Production.
