One morning, the mighty emperor Hadrian gallops into a small village and its inhabitants hide in fear. All except one. An old man, almost one hundred years old, steps outside to plant a fig tree. The emperor is astounded. Surely the old man won't live long enough to eat the fruits from the tree? But the old man isn't planting the tree for himself. It is a gift for all children and future generations.
