What is the Black Prairie experience? This episode asks 15 people to share their stories about life on the Prairies as Black folks. Their answers, like this project, challenged the idea of a singular Black Prairie experience. There are common themes - the breathtaking delight of the Prairie sky, the constant heavy burden of systemic racism - but there are also contradictions, demonstrating the push and pull of claiming the Prairies as "home."
