Why We Fly the Rainbow presents the rainbow Pride flag, the people it represents and why we fly it, in a way that's easy for young readers to follow. The book is narrated by two cheerful jellybeans, as they discuss the LGBTQ+ initials, the various iterations of the pride flag and what it means to be a good friend. Through a casual conversation between these happy candies, we learn about acceptance, diversity and the concept of pride. The bright, colourful illustrations are eye-catching for kids and add another layer to the story, as all of the jellybeans, in different sizes, shapes and colours, with different interests and abilities, are ultimately, the same.
