Stella is a young Metis-Anishinaabe girl who just received her spirit name Memengwaa Ikwezens (Butterfly Girl). After her Naming Ceremony, Stella hears an animal cry from the woods. Her Papa tells her that an animal was calling out to welcome her into the Clan. Determined to find out who that was, Stella sets out on a journey meeting each of the seven Clan Animals.
