When Joe's friend and fellow game warden Will Jensen commits suicide, Joe must take over his Teton district and finds himself not only suspicious of the death, but soon experiencing the same ailments that affected Jensen before his death. Away from home, he becomes attracted to a married woman and his wife turns to another man for help.
