This story tells what happens when the animals of Manor Farm overthrow the farmer, Mr. Hones, and create the first 'Animal Farm.' Setting out with the highest ideals and the best of intentions, the animals discover that the craving for power among some of them leads inexorably to dictatorship, corruption and disillusionment.
